
Royal Caribbean Terms and Conditions
MAKING A RESERVATION
A deposit must be made in order to reserve a stateroom and receive
a written confirmation. For 3, 4 or 5-night cruise vacations, a
deposit of $100 per person is required; for 7-night cruise
vacations the amount is $250 per person and for 8-night and longer
cruises, a deposit of $450 per person is required to confirm your
reservation.
BOARDING THE SHIP
Be sure to allow plenty of time to board the ship prior to the scheduled sailing time.
FINAL PAYMENTS
Final payment of the balance must be received at Royal Caribbean's offices at least 45 days prior to the sailing date for 3, 4 and
5-night cruise vacations and 60 days prior to the sailing date for
7-night and longer cruise vacations. Holiday sailings require final
payment 90 days prior to the sailing date. The payment schedule for
groups is different from that of individuals. You will usually
receive cruise and air documents no later than 28 days before the
start of your cruise, contingent upon final payment. Please consult
your travel agent for details.
PAYMENT POLICY
Payment should be made to your travel agent. Make checks payable to
My Cruise Club, 3401 Pacific Ave #2B, Marina Del Rey, CA. 90292.
CREDIT CARDS
Royal Caribbean happily accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express,
Carte Blanche, Optima, Diners Club International, and Discover
cards for both group and individual bookings. Please consult your
travel agent for details.
CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS
You'll receive a full refund if you notify us in writing or by
phone 71 days (60 days for 3 and 4-night cruise vacations) prior to
your sailing date. For holiday sailings you'll need to notify us 90
days prior to the sailing date. Our deposit, cancellation and
refund policies for shore excursions may vary.
Note: No refunds will be made if you don't show up for your cruise
vacation, or if you interrupt or cancel your vacation once it has
began.
RIGHT TO PRICE CHANGE
Royal Caribbean International reserves the right to increase
published cruise rates and air fare supplement rates without prior
notice. However once Royal Caribbean has received a full deposit
for the service initially booked by a guest, the cruise rates or
air fare supplement rates, whichever is applicable, will not change
although the guest will remain liable for any applicable taxes,
fees or surcharges that may be assessed by any governmental or
quasi-governmental agencies.
In addition, Royal Caribbean reserves the right to assess the air
fare supplement customer a charge covering any fuel surcharge
increases assessed against Royal Caribbean.
CRUISE PRICE INCLUSION
The price of your cruise vacation includes ship accommodation,
ocean transportation, most meals, some beverage, and most
entertainment aboard the ship. All Prices are per person, based on
double occupancy of the stateroom, and are quoted in U.S. dollars.
The cruise vacation price does not include air transportation,
transfers (except as noted) of items of personal nature, such as
shore excursions, beverages, telephone calls, room service ashore,
photographs, gratuities, medical services, etc. These items may be
purchased separately. The cruise fares quoted also do not include
any applicable government taxes, fees or surcharges that may be
assessed by any governmental or quasi-governmental agencies. Such
assessment is subject to change without notice at any time whether
or not you have a confirmed booking under deposit, or if you have
made final payment. The price does not include the specialty
restaurants onboard Adventure, Voyager, Explorer, Navigator,
Brilliance and Radiance of the Seas.
CANCELLATION COVERAGE
Our CruiseCare Vacation Protection Plan provides cash reimbursement
of non-refundable cancellation penalties should you cancel your
cruise for certain, specified unforeseen circumstances - up to the
total value of your cruise. As a special feature, if you
voluntarily cancel your cruise for any reason not covered by the
insurance portion of CruiseCare, Royal Caribbean will give you 75%
of the normally non-refundable cancellation charges in future
cruise credits.
EXTRA INSURANCE
Because our liability for loss or damage is limited by the Cruise
Ticket Contract, we recommend that all guests check their own
insurance coverage. For greater peace of mind, Royal Caribbean's
CruiseCare Vacation Protection Plan offers affordable medical,
travel and baggage coverage for the duration of your cruise
vacation.

BAGGAGE PROTECTION
Our optional CruiseCare Vacation Protection Plan provides up to
$1500 in baggage and personal property protection due to loss,
theft or damage. Should your bags be delayed by the airline for
more than 24 hours, you will be reimbursed up to $500 for toward
any purchases of necessary personal items.
DOCUMENTS AND IDENTIFICATION
Before leaving home, please take a few minutes to familiarize
yourself with the required travel documents you will be asked to
provide prior to boarding the ship. Caution: The requirements
described below are subject to change by governmental bodies
without notice.
It is the sole responsibility of the guest to identify all travel,
inoculation and health requirements, and to obtain and have
available when necessary the appropriate valid travel documents
such as passports, visas and inoculation documents required for
boarding and re-entry into the United States. For your protection,
we recommend that your passport expiration date not occur within
six (6) months of the voyage termination date.
Domestic sailing requirements (applies to travel that originates in
a port in the United States or Puerto Rico to destinations in the
United States, Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, Caribbean and Mexico):
U.S. citizens: A passport (valid or expired) or a birth certificate
(original or certified copy) plus a picture ID card issued by a
federal, state or local government agency are required. A voter
registration card or Social Security card are not considered to be
proof of citizenship. Children under 16 years of age do not require
a picture ID card.
Non-U.S. citizens: Valid passports and visas (when needed) are
required except as follows:
(1) if an individual is a Resident Alien living in the United
States, then the only document needed is the original copy of their
Alien Registration Card (ARC or "green card") and
(2), certain Canadian and Mexican citizens who
travel with alternative documentation depending
on their alien status in the United States.
Visas/Inoculations: Please check with a travel agent, government
agencies, embassies, consulates, your physician, local health
department or the Center for Disease Control and Prevention
(www.cdc.gov) to determine travel and health documentary
requirements.
Guests who do not possess the proper documentation may be prevented
from boarding the flight or ship, disembarking or entering a
country, and may be subject to fines. If as a result of your lack
of proper documentation, a fine or other cost is incurred by Royal
Caribbean Cruises Ltd., you agree to indemnify Royal Caribbean
Cruises Ltd. for such expenses. No refunds will be given to individuals who fail to bring proper
documentation.
EMBARKATION
You should plan to arrive at the pier at least two hours before the
ship is scheduled to depart. Boarding time varies by itinerary. It
is your responsibility to arrive on time. In preparation for prompt
departure, cruise check-in will close 30 minutes prior to sailing.
Guests arriving after will not be permitted to board.
FLIGHT DELAYS
If you have purchased our optional CruiseCare Vacation Protection
Plan, you'll be reimbursed up to $500 to cover accommodations,
meals and "catch-up" transportation - as long as the airline delay
was caused by covered reasons. Otherwise, you are responsible for
any expense incurred to meet the ship at its next port of call. Why
not book a day prior pre-cruise hotel package and avoid delayed
flight disappointment?
BOARDING
Boarding time may vary by itinerary. Please check your cruise
ticket booklet for confirmed boarding time. It is the guest's
responsibility to arrive on time.
Note: For security reasons, guests are not allowed to bring
visitors onboard Royal Caribbean ships in any port.
SMOKING POLICY
For the comfort and enjoyment of our guests, our ships have been
designated nonsmoking ships. However, we recognize that some of our
guests smoke. Therefore, to provide an onboard environment that
also satisfies smokers, we have designated smoking areas in many of
our lounges and on all open-air decks. Royal Caribbean
International kindly asks all guests to please observe the
nonsmoking areas and to refrain from smoking pipes or cigars in any
of the public areas. These requests are made to provide a
comfortable shipboard environment for everyone.
GRATUITY
To thank those who have served you well, we suggest the following
guidelines:
- Dining room waiter: $3.50 a day per guest
- Housekeeper: $3.50 a day per guest
- Assistant waiter: $2.00 a day per guest
- On 3, 4 anti 5-night cruises headwaiters are generally tipped $2.50
per guest for the cruise
- On 7-night or longer cruises, headwaiter gratuities are at your
discretion.
- Gratuities for other service personnel are at your discretion.
Please note: All gratuities must be paid in cash in U.S. dollars. A
15% gratuity will be automatically added to your bar bill or wine
check when you am served.
PAYING FOR ONBOARD PURCHASES For your convenience, our ships use
the SuperCharge signing system. This system allows you to charge
all onboard purchases by presenting the Cruise Card that is issued
to you upon boarding. SuperCharge is used for all expenditures
except for those few that require cash: gratuities (other than bar
and wine service), foreign currency exchange, casino gambling and
purchases on private islands.
On the last morning of your cruise vacation, an itemized statement
will be delivered to your stateroom for verification. Upon your
approval, your SuperCharge charges will be billed automatically to
your Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Carte Blanche, Optima,
Diners Club International, Discover card or JCB card.
FOREIGN CURRENCY
Personal checks are not accepted for purchases aboard the ship.
Guests who have an account with a U.S. bank may cash one personal
check at the Purser’s Desk for up to $200 per cruise vacation
(guests who present an American Express card, $250). For your
convenience, the Purser's Desk can cash traveler's checks and
provide foreign currency exchange. U.S. dollars and traveler's
checks are accepted in most ports.
SHORE EXCURSIONS
You can purchase your shore excursions online by visiting our
website, www.royalcaribbean.com any time of the day or night. To
pre-book an excursion, you will need your cruise reservation number
(obtained from your travel agent or reservation agent), ship name
and sailing date. Once you have completed your purchase, an
immediate recap of the selected tours will be provided along with a
final e-mail confirmation when your credit card purchase is
approved. Your purchased tour ticket(s) will be delivered to you in
your cabin. Kindly note that you have up to 10 days prior to your
sail date to purchase your shore excursions on-line. Once within
the 10-day sail date deadline, the booking system is closed and
tours are no longer available for pre-booking. From this point, all
guests must book their excursions on board the vessel on a
first-come, first-served basis.
CODE OF CONDUCT
For the safety and comfort of our guests, Royal
Caribbean has developed a set of Guest Behavior Guidelines for both
adults and children. If Royal Caribbean determines that certain
guests are in violation of these guidelines, we may be forced to
ask the offending party to leave the ship at the next available
port of call. Please make sure to familiarize yourself with the
guidelines, which are located in the Guest Services Directory found
in your stateroom.
GUESTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
Royal Caribbean welcomes guests with special needs and works hard
to assist them throughout their vacation. To receive appropriate
assistance, you must be sure your travel agent notifies Royal
Caribbean Special Needs by voice/ TDD (800) 722-5472 x34492,
e-mail specialneeds@rcd.com, or fax (305) 539-6018 at the time of
booking of any special need and other relevant information.
All guests must ensure that they are medically and physically fit
for travel and that such traveling will not endanger themselves or
others. Any condition requiring medical treatment or attention must
be reported to Royal Caribbean in writing when the booking is
requested or, if such condition arises after the booking is
requested, prior to the
boarding date for that guest's cruise vacation.
Guests dependent on oxygen or requiring oxygen therapy must meet
certain requirements prior to boarding the ship. Contact a travel
agent for details. Royal Caribbean will not accept guests who will
have entered their third trimester of pregnancy by the beginning of
their vacation.
Professional medical services are available for a reasonable fee.
At least one qualified physician and two registered nurses are
normally in attendance on all Royal Caribbean cruise vacations. See
a travel agent for an accessibility brochure.
MINORS
No guest under the age of 21 will be booked in a stateroom unless
accompanied by an adult 25 years or older. This age limit will be
waived for underaged married couples (proof of marriage is required
at check-in) or minor children sailing with their parents or
guardians in adjacent staterooms.
Please note: An individual's age on the date of sailing determines
his or her status for the entire cruise vacation. Royal Caribbean
International does not accept bookings for student groups. Please
consult a travel agent for Royal Caribbean's group policies.
DELAYED SAILINGS AND CHANGES IN ITINERARY
In the event of strikes, lockouts, riots, weather conditions or
mechanical difficulties, or for any other reason whatsoever, Royal
Caribbean may at any time and without prior notice, cancel,
advance, postpone or deviate from any scheduled sailing or port of
call and may, but is not obliged to, substitute another ship or
port of call, and shall ship, or port of call, and shall not be
liable for any loss whatsoever to guests by reason of such
cancellation, advancement, postponement, deviation or substitution.
Royal Caribbean shall not be responsible for any failure to adhere
to the arrival and departure times published in this brochure for
any of its ports of call.
SETTLING DISPUTES
Any dispute between a guest and Royal Caribbean in connection with
a guest's cruise booking or cruise vacation shall be litigated, if
at all, in and before a court located in Miami, Florida, USA, to
the exclusion of the courts of any other state, territory or
country.
GAMBLING No guest under the age of 21 will be permitted to gamble onboard
any of Royal Caribbean's ships.
Please note: An individual's age on the date of sailing determines
his or her status for the entire cruise vacation.
REFUSAL OF PASSAGE
Passage may be refused to any guest, and any guest's cruise
vacation may be terminated at any time, at the risk and expense of
the guest debarked, where, in the opinion of the ship's Captain or
physician, a guest is unfit for travel or a risk or danger to
himself or herself or a disturbance or danger to others. Such guest
may be left at any port or place at which the ship calls without
any liability to Royal Caribbean. Royal Caribbean shall not be
required to refund any amount paid by any guest who must leave the
cruise vacation prematurely for any of the reasons set forth above
or otherwise, nor shall Royal Caribbean be responsible for lodging,
meals, return transportation or other expenses incurred by the
guest.
CONDITIONS OF CRUISE TICKET CONTRACT
The transportation of guests and baggage on Royal Caribbean ships
is governed by the terms and conditions of the Cruise Ticket
Contract included as part of the cruise ticket. The Cruise Ticket
Contract limits your rights. The Cruise Ticket Contract sets forth
limitations on the time frames in which claims may be made and
suits may be filed against Royal Caribbean. It is important that
you read all of the terms and conditions of the Cruise Ticket
Contract. (Copies are available upon request,)
Note: The Cruise Ticket Contract must be signed by all guests prior
to boarding.
ROYAL CARIBBEAN'S LIABILITY
Guests release Royal Caribbean from any and all claims for loss or
damage to baggage or property, or for personal injuries or death,
or for loss from delay, shore excursion providers, restaurateurs,
transportation providers, medical personnel or other providers of
services or facilities. Under no circumstances does Royal
Caribbean's responsibility extend beyond the ship. All arrangements
made for the guests with independent contractors are made solely
for the convenience of the guest and are at the guest's risk. Royal
Caribbean disclaims all liability for damages for emotional
distress, mental suffering or psychological injury of any kind,
under any circumstances, except to the extent such disclaimer is
prohibited by 46U.S.C.§ I 83c. (b).
GUEST'S LIABILITY
Each guest agrees to indemnify Royal Caribbean for all penalties,
fines, charges, losses or expenses incurred or imposed upon Royal
Caribbean by virtue of any act, omission or violation of law by the
guest.
Each guest, or if a minor, his or her parent or guardian, shall be
liable to and shall reimburse Royal Caribbean for all damage to the
ship and its furnishings and equipment, or any property of the
ship, caused by any willful or negligent act or omission on the
part of the guest.
PERSONAL PROPERTY
Under no circumstances may dangerous articles such as controlled
substances, firearms, explosives, cylinders containing compressed
air or combustible substances, etc., be contained in any baggage or
brought by any person onboard. Royal Caribbean reserves the right
to refuse to permit any guest to take onboard any items Royal
Caribbean deems inappropriate. No animals are permitted onboard
(with the exception of service animals for guests with special
needs).
Property lost or damaged should be reported to either the
Purser's/Guest Relations Desk or to a designated Royal Caribbean
employee prior to leaving the US Customs area. In any event,
property lost or damaged must be reported within the time
limitations and in accordance with the procedures set forth in the
Cruise Ticket Contract. In the absence of negligence on its part,
Royal Caribbean is not responsible for any loss, theft, pilferage
and/or damage to a guest's property, which includes items such as
money, travel currency, jewelry of any kind,
photographic/electronic equipment or other personal property. Royal
Caribbean's liability for loss or damage to property shall be
limited otherwise in accordance with the provisions in the Cruise
Ticket Contract. Items may be deposited for safekeeping at the
Purser's/Guest Relations Desk. Royal Caribbean's CruiseCare offers
personal property protection.
